Visual Studio Code – Docker extension – Failed to connect

Docker is a platform designed to help developers build, share, and run modern applications. Docker is an open source project that automates the deployment of applications inside Linux Containers, and provides the capability to package an application with its runtime dependencies into a container. It provides a Docker CLI command line tool for the lifecycle management of image-based containers.

Solution

1. Start Visual Studio Code

2. Open Explorer

3. Add a folder with the Docker compose file to Workspace

Now Docker extension should work.
